The Clean Energy Regulator has recently released figures showing an enormous increase in new solar energy installations in Australia during the last year. With a total of 3.5 million installations during the year, which equates to 9500 solar PV panels being installed each day. This records a 41% increase on 2016 figures, as small businesses and private households are investing in strong role renewable energy.
Record numbers of installations
In Queensland, a record 205 MW were installed, with New South Wales, a close contender with 246 MW. This data proves that the smaller cities and suburbs of Australia are taking up renewable energy options as they become more increasingly popular. Of course, a larger cross-section of small business, schools, community centres and households are taking control of their electricity accounts and receiving incentives provided by the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.
Why install solar?
A solar energy installation will offer you not only the cleanest source of renewable energy for your home or business, but also the most economic solar power resource. With a reduction in your energy bills, a decrease in your carbon emissions and a membership of the clean energy revolution in Australia, plus the benefit of always having adequate power whenever you need it with a battery storage system, it’s a win-win situation. An average investment return could be as large as 30% with a rooftop solar installation.
The Clean Energy Regulator commented that with the solar industry becoming stronger, great things are expected when 2018 results are recorded, with at least a further 1 GW of capacity to be installed on rooftops in Australia.
